Generational thinking: enduring qualities

“…riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.” Proverbs 27:24

What are the qualities of works that endure? Why do some works continue to inspire across generations and cultures?

moving beyond self expression

“The ending is better than the beginning; and the patient in spirit is better than the prideful.” Ecclesiastes 7:8

Sometimes artists are too self-absorbed; they only think about themselves. Then there are other artists who see a bigger vision. If we are to sew seeds for future growth, we must not keep them stored up in our own hands now.

In what ways can you make your creative work become bigger than your own fame? How can you move beyond self-expression? If it is not all about you, then what could it be about? What could it do? How long might it take? What do you have to lose? What to gain?

Recognizing: your unique perspective

Jesus said, “Whoever has ears, let him hear” for a reason.  (Matthew 11:15).

Do others recognize the beauty you do? What if they don’t?

Could it still be beautiful if only you recognized it?

Have you ever stopped to admire something that it seems everyone else around just walked past?

Please give an example of this? What is the value of it?

Recognizing: beauty

When you recognize beauty, what do you think it is that you are recognizing?

This is a small question, but does it have a small answer? Maybe you could give an example of finding beauty somewhere, in a situation, in a person, an idea or a thing, and explain your experience.
