Generational Thinking: winds and waves

Very often we can get so involved in what we do that it becomes easy to forget why we should or even if we should do it at all.

We are not culturally neutral. If we go with the flow, we may find that the only thing floating downstream is a dead fish. If we are not intentional about creating a haven, or cleaving to a fixed point in the river, a pocket of rest, or if we are not actively turning against the forces that want to push us around, then we will float along to wherever the river pulls.

Is there a direction that we are heading, as a people, that is dangerous or would lead to dissipation?

Is there a direction that our culture is heading that is good and life-giving?

Where is the pull of culture trying to take you personally?

How can you resist the evil influences around you to achieve good?

Ephesians 4 – 14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
